Congo Bread

1 lb. brown sugar (2 1/3 cups packed)
2/3 cup oil
3 eggs
2 ¾ cups flour
2 ½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 (12 oz) pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
Mix brown sugar and oil; add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Add vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients, choc. chips and nuts. Mixture will be quite thick. Spread into a greased 15x10 inch pan (lasagna pan)/ Bale at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cut into squares or bars when cool. Store in airtight container.
